Kashf — Interactive Islamic Knowledge Platform Built on Shia Primary Sources

Kashf (كشف — meaning "Unveiling") is a free interactive Islamic knowledge platform organized as a living map of twelve gates and hundreds of interconnected paths. Every path is written from primary Shia sources — the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, the Twelve Imams (a) of the Ahl al-Bayt, and the major Shia scholars including Allama Tabatabai (al-Mizan), Imam Khomeini (Forty Hadith), Mulla Sadra, Mutahhari, and Naraqi (Jami al-Saadat).

What Kashf is

Kashf is not a blog, lecture archive, or fixed curriculum. It is an interactive knowledge map where every concept connects to every other concept and every path leads back to Allah. The platform is framed as Madinat al-Ilm — The City of Knowledge — after the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ: "I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate." Twelve gates open into the city: Aqeedah (belief and theology), Quran, Seerah and Tarikh (Prophet and Islamic history), Irfan (the inner journey of the heart and soul), Dua and Munajat (communicating with Allah), Akhirah (eschatology), Ummah (community and justice), Akhlaq (character), Ibadat (worship), Ilm (knowledge and reflection), Sharia (law), and Interfaith.

Three depths on every path

Every path on Kashf carries three tiers of understanding mirroring the classical epistemology of Zahir, Batin, and Haqiqa. The Talib (Seeker) tier opens with a lived moment any reader can recognize, anchored to a Quranic verse or authenticated hadith. The Salik (Traveler) tier introduces methodology, primary source citations, and the Shia–Sunni comparative panel — presenting both traditions fairly, never as strawmen. The Arif (Knower) tier presents the Arabic primary text with full scholarly depth, drawn from Nahj al-Balagha, Usul al-Kafi, Bihar al-Anwar, Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, Tafsir al-Mizan, and the Forty Hadith — each closing with a secret block: the inmost reality the path opens toward when genuinely internalized.

Free to begin

Kashf is free for every visitor. Seeker content is open on every path with no signup required. Kashf Plus, a planned subscription, unlocks the Traveler tier instantly. The Knower tier is never sold — it is only earned by walking the full map at the Traveler level, in the tradition of the Arif station which takes years of sustained inner work.

Honest about the foundation

Kashf is built on Shia primary sources and presents the Sunni view fairly in comparative panels — never as a strawman, always at its strongest. The platform is honest about its foundation: every visitor of every background is welcome, the Shia tradition is the primary teaching, and other views are presented with intellectual integrity. Kashf is installable as a Progressive Web App on iOS, Android, and desktop, with full offline reading for paths already visited.

Same light. A different journey.

The tagline reflects the platform's core philosophy: every human being carries Nur (light) from creation. The journey is not to acquire light but to uncover what is hiding it. Different coverings, different journeys — but the same map of twelve gates and hundreds of paths is open to all who wish to walk it.
